2. Peel the protective film off the cup.
3. Press the cup flat and push the lever down to lock it.

The root problem
It's not the hook. It's what holds it up.
Sticky hooks give up in steam and heat. Plain suction cups can slide down under a wet towel. Screws mean drilling tile, which most renters can't do.
